There's a reason I'm not a nurse...
So my husband who wanted to be a vet left the nursing of the dog to me while he is out of town this week. Now mind you, I can set my mind to doing just about anything I need to when he is gone. However, this is not in my acceptable realm of duties. Changing dressings, checking for infection, wrapping so she can't chew it off.....not my area of expertise. Sydney looks at me pathetically like, "Do you have any idea what you are doing because this isn't how dad does it..."
Examining icky looking things with no skin isn't good with me. However, her leg is starting to fill in and she has feeling in it and her toes are warm, so hopefully it is healing. She hops around on three legs pretty quickly and even chases the goats from time to time. I'll keep you posted on the progress....
Easter was great fun! We all went to church as a family (I LOVE that!), and then Gail and Roch and the girls joined us for Easter buffet. In the evening we went to Jennifer's for dessert. I love the days that the whole family is around. Alex and Travis usually get involved in some kind of sport or video game and I get to visit with my daughter. Life is good!
Whit and Travis are back in the house hunting, but are taking their time to find just the right house for just the right price. They put an offer on one they didn't get, so they know that isn't the one God intended for them to have. It's a fun process, though, looking and planning and dreaming... I said to be sure there is a good spot for a nursery. They just roll their eyes at me!
We're getting some warm sunny days now and I get positively giddy with the idea that summer is just around the corner. I'm ready for deck time, bbqs, long days, walks in the sunshine.....
